Bridget Yoko, S.C.

Head of Counseling

Bridget Yoko is a lifelong educator and child advocate who believes every child carries a story worth discovering—and that play is one of the most powerful ways to tell it. With over 13 years of experience in PreK–8 education and advanced degrees in Integrated Studies, Elementary Education, and School Counseling, Bridget blends academic insight with heart-centered practice.

As the Head of Childhood Development at The Village School in Arlington, VA, she leads with curiosity, compassion, and a deep commitment to seeing the whole child. Bridget’s work centers on creating space for learners to explore their emotions, develop character, and grow into their most authentic selves. She draws on storytelling, emotional learning, and imaginative play to help learners not only understand the world around them—but also their unique place within it.

Inspired by her time within traditional education, where she saw both its strengths and its limitations, Bridget sought a more holistic, learner-centered path and found her home at The Village School. Today, she helps shape a wellness program rooted in purpose, self-awareness, and connection. Her mission is simple but profound: to help every child feel seen, valued, and empowered to write their own story.
