The future belongs to those who can do what technology cannot.
At The Village School, we prepare PreK-8 learners for a future where human creativity and critical thinking matter most. While technology can instantly provide information, your child’s real advantage comes from developing uniquely human skills: asking thoughtful questions, solving complex problems creatively, and understanding themselves and others. Through hands-on projects that connect subjects around real-world challenges, plenty of play that honors childhood, and mastery-based learning that celebrates your child’s unique strengths, we build both the critical thinking skills and strong character that will serve them throughout life.

We attract educators who are passionate about continuous growth and dedicated to mastering their profession.
-
We call students “learners” and teachers “guides” because it creates space for co-creation and agency rather than control and compliance.
-
Play is the work of children of all ages. We preserve childhood through play, from kindergarten through 8th grade.
-
TVS learners opt in to one standardized test each year and score an average of 1.5 grade levels above their peers (without taking any other tests all year!) Standardized test data is just one data point in the story of their growth over time.

What other schools offer to 18 year olds, we offer to 11 year olds—because we believe young people are more capable than the world gives them credit for.
