Andy Statler
Music Specialist
Andy brings a wide range of experiences into the classroom, united by a deep belief in the transformative power of education and music. He previously taught high school math at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., before serving as a Middle School Guide at Acton Academy DC, where he developed interdisciplinary, learner-centered projects and experiential learning opportunities.
Alongside his work in education, Andy has taught private and group music lessons for the past seven years while performing professionally throughout the D.C. area with his jazz band at public venues, weddings, and private events. He also coaches JV Girls Soccer at Yorktown High School, where he enjoys mentoring young people through teamwork, confidence-building, and discipline.
Earlier in his career, Andy worked as a consultant in healthcare policy, but ultimately felt drawn toward more human-centered and creative work. He is passionate about helping young people experience the joy, confidence, and sense of connection that music has brought to his own life.
