PreK - 1st Grade

Spark Studio is a place where our youngest learners (ages 4-6) come together to explore the world around them. In Spark, play is positioned as a subject just as important as reading and math. A focus on playful and project-based learning results in increased confidence, emotional intelligence, social skills, and independence. A science-based process complimented by Montessori materials guide our approach to math and reading instruction.

What Makes Spark Studio Special

Time Outdoors

The average elementary school offers 25 minutes of recess per day. Because we honor the way children are naturally wired to learn, Spark learners spend 50% of their week in unstructured outdoor play, rain or shine — developing physical strength, social-emotional skills, and the ability to collaborate.
Learner-Led Projects

Project time puts our belief into action that young learners have valuable, viable, and visionary ideas. Guides use a Reggio-Emilia inspired approach, following learners' interests to explore their world and themselves.
Learner-Driven Goal Setting

Our youngest learners set their own goals with help breaking them into manageable steps. When children define their learning goals, they become more invested and learn more effectively.
Mixed-Age Learning

Life is mixed age, and so are we. Learners thrive in multi-age communities where leadership opportunities abound. All children help each other follow schedules, manage time, and teach new concepts.
