Spark

Adventure awaits! This session, Spark learners will embark on an exciting journey around the world, exploring all seven continents. Each week, learners will explore a continent and discover what makes it unique through hands-on projects and storytelling. As we travel, learners will learn about what makes each continent special, including cultures, animals, landmarks, music, food, and traditions. Along the way, learners will design and build their own homes while learning about North America, create colorful rainforest art inspired by South America, craft animal artwork and patterns from Africa, build simple landmarks from Europe, make lanterns or fans inspired by Asia, explore dot art from Australia, and participate in sensory play and experiments while discovering Antarctica. 

Learners will also explore Earth’s landforms by designing and building their own imaginary island. They will hear the fascinating story of how the continents formed through the Five Great Lessons, brought to life with hands-on demonstrations. With help from our older learners, Spark will research a continent or country of interest, learning more about the world around them. We will wrap up the session by showcasing a Travel Museum, where learners display their favorite discoveries and creations for all to see.

Discovery

Get ready to tee up! This session, Discovery learners are stepping off the page and onto the green — we're diving into mini golf! We will explore how physics, geometry, and art all come to life through mini golf! We'll discover how angles, slope, force, and motion send a golf ball exactly where you want it (or don't!). Then we’ll head to a real mini golf course to put those ideas to the test and see how artists make a course come alive. As a grand finale, learners will team up to design and create their own playable mini golf course!

"Once upon a time..." Three words that have started some of the most magical stories ever told. In this session’s Writer’s Workshop, Discovery learners get to become authors of their own story! We'll share with each other our favorite stories and unpack the author's magic. How do they build characters, shape a plot, and pull us into their world? Then, we’ll use AI (Abundant Imagination) through quick writes, where no idea is too wild and every word counts. Along the way, learners will dive deep into the building blocks of a great story and begin crafting original stories that are entirely their own!

Adventure

Get ready to take the stage! This session, Adventure learners will become playwrights, actors, and directors. We’ll learn what makes a play a play, then create our own original scripts, complete with complex characters and dramatic conflicts. Learners will then bring the play to life by designing props, set decorations, and costumes to match their stories. Finally, Adventure learners will take center stage and perform their plays!

This session, Adventure learners will begin exploring exciting apprenticeship opportunities. They’ll dive into their interests, uncover new possibilities, and identify experiences that connect with their passions. Along the way, they’ll learn how to craft professional emails, prepare for in-person interviews, sign contracts, and reflect on the lessons they learned during their apprenticeship journey.
